My love for all things Danish (including pastries) comes from the warm feelings the designs evoke. Nordic style is synonymous with wooden chalets, deer antlers and pine tree motifs. (No wonder Wham’s Last Christmas video is one of my favourites!)
The Danes have a great way of combining beauty with functionality. Clean lines, smooth finishes with a very organic feel. Danish designs are great to sit on, look at and even wear.
Which brings me to a favourite store in Melbourne called Dansk. Dansk is a celebration of that Nordic style I love. The fit out of the store feels like a beautiful chalet complete with leather chairs, taxidermic deers and sauna-like change rooms.
There’s clothes and shoes for both men and women from designers such as D.Co Copenhagen, Minimum and Ilse Jacobsen among others. Think chunky cable knits, gorgeous tan, leather boots and warm winter coats. Pure Danish style. Efforltless and cool.
Dansk is located at 121 Chapel St. Windsor.
For more Danish stuff-check out my blog- I should be an official ambassador for Danish art & fashion ; )
