Do it! Do It!

There’s a saying that goes Your Life Only Begins After You’ve Stepped Outside Your Comfort Zone. And being a Cancerian I’m all about my shell (my home) and all my comforts. I feel safest in environments I know. My surroundings, my friends even my daily activities. This extends to most aspects of my life, even my hair.

Ever since I can remember I’ve had long hair. Sometimes straight, sometimes permed, sometimes highlighted with bleach (yes bleach, read more here) but always long. It’s what I know, it’s what I’m used to, it’s my comfort zone.

I’ve always feared to go any shorter in case I end up looking like this :IMG_9524

Not that there’s anything wrong with looking like Velma from Scooby Doo if that’s your thing, it’s just not mine.

In fact I’ve been so opposed to cutting my hair that I even blogged about it here. You see so many women go for the chop after a certain age that I was determined not be one of them. Alas, in order to save my hair I must now succumb to the cut as well. I think a certain home hair straightening product may have f***ed up my hair for good. I’m seeing split ends in places I never thought possible. It’s insane!

So I did what any girl would do, I panicked, tweeted my hair dresser and made an appointment with him ASAP. That ASAP is tomo morning! To say I’m nervous doesn’t begin to describe how I’m feeling. I know it’s only hair and it grows back, but what if I’m making a huge mistake. What if I won’t look like me? What if like Samson I lose my super powers?!!

*slap myself* Okay. Hysterical rant over. Down to business. Let’s not get crazy. I’m not doing a Mia Farrow for Pete’s Sake. I’m simply doing a Nicole Richie. And of course I know that by cutting my hair like hers I’m going to look exactly like her!

I’ve been gathering lots of photos to show my hairdresser tomorrow so I hope he reads this now and takes notes.

Coincidentally, Cheryl Lin from Busichic has just had the chop too with pretty much the same style I’m going for. Hopefully I look half as good her, but without all the guilt πŸ˜‰ Wish me luck people…no really, wish me luck!! Because if this goes pear shaped tomorrow, beanies may become my new best friends! Eeeek!! X
