Last week I attended the AW2014 (Autumn Winter) Runway presented by Chadstone- Fashion Capital. It was an evening of much champagne sipping, canape eating and people watching. The blogeratti were out in full force with their iphones ready to tweet and instagram every moment. Yes, myself included.
Some of the bloggers I caught up with on the night included Sophia from EveryDayLikeThis, Lisa from SeeWantShop and Sevan from SevenAutumnLeaves.
The runway was a chance for luxury fashion house COACH to showcase the Australian launch of their ‘Ready to Wear’ collection. It was a sea of beautiful neutral tones and pops of colour like tangerine. All models were carrying beautiful soft leather totes in hues of tan and cream.
The night featured 7 trends that will transcend down through the stores over the Australian Autumn and Winter season- Blue Daze, Sports Luxe, Printed Matter, Gentleman’s Club, Wine down, Sugar coated and Sheer Beauty.
We can look forward to lots of prints (spots, leopard, digital), neutrals, textured coats and sheer designs. Structured jackets and leather pencil skirts also made an appearance. I was happy to see that ankle boots will continue to be a winter staple this season as my wardrobe is full of them. The trousers with the skirt/train attached at the back was an interesting design. It created beautiful movement when the model was walking.Β Hair was kept simple with neat low ponytails and make up by Bobbi Brown was dewy and minimal with a burst of wine-coloured lipstick.
Among the fashion labels that showcased their collections were Lacoste, Witchery, Sass and Bide, Alex Perry, Saba, Karen Millen, Wittner and Kookai. All these retailers can be found at Chadstone– Fashion Capital. They’re all together around the Designer Mall that just oozes luxury and sophistication.
Apart from the fashion, we were also treated to the sights and sounds of 3 amazing classical musicians that truly dispelled the myth that classical is boring. These girls looked and sounded phenomenal! Anyone that can keep a dress up, stand in those heels and play the violin is a rockstar in my books! X
