The RIGHT TO BEAUTY Project
The Right To Beauty Project was born out of an idea I had a while ago to create beauty packs for disadvantaged women (Asylum Seeker Resource Centre). While there are many fantastic initiatives that provide women with the essentials such as soap, shampoo and sanitary products, there are far less groups that provide beauty products and cosmetics.
Having access to make up and cosmetics may not be regarded as of very high importance when it comes to donations but I think they definitely have their place.
I believe it’s important for ALL women to feel empowered and have the right to feel beautiful. And yes, while true beauty comes from within we can’t downplay the role that make up can have in making a woman feel good.
For some it may be access to a great moisturiser, a nice nail polish or even a new lipstick. They’re not necessities but rather little luxuries that I believe women should have access to regardless of their financial situations.
There’s no denying the fact that when we look good we feel good and when we feel good we do good.
So this holiday season I’d love your help and support with the Right To Beauty Project. It’s easy to donate and every little bit helps. Donations to the project could be anything that may be considered non-essentials. Things like make up brushes, moisturisers, primers, a great lipstick, eye shadow, perfume etc.
You can drop off your donation locally to Lumberjack Cafe if your’e in Richmond or pop it in a postbag and send it to 484 Bridge Rd Richmond, Melbourne 3121.
All products must be new and sealed and any donation will be greatly appreciated!
Please donate whatever you can and share this post with all your friends.
Thanking you all in advance.
