Embalm Skincare describes itself as “uncomplicated skincare” with a routine you can finish in 5 minutes. Australian made and owned, Embalm is cruelty free and vegan, 100% natural and perfect for sensitive skin.
It’s founder, Mel Driver, says she was horrified to discover some of the ingredients in her previous skincare were also used in commercial garage degreasers and brake fluid. Armed with a diploma in Organic Skincare Science, Mel set out to make a range of skincare that was not only simple to use but contained 100% natural ingredients that would be kind to all skin types.
Containing ingredients such as Kakadu Plum, Quandong, Tasmanian Pepper Berry, Lilly Pilly and Lemon Myrtle, Embalm really has hit the mark for clean and hypoallergenic skin care. Not only do these natural ingredients work to cleanse and moisturise but they smell DIVINE! In fact just the other day I was using the cleanser when a girlfriend of mine commented on the amazing smell. She said it reminded her of being in a salon. And she’s right! The smell is intoxicating. A good scent is such an important part of any skincare routine- it adds to the experience and makes it all the more relaxing.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial the Embalm Complete 3 Step Skincare Kit which includes the Uplifting Cleanser, formulated with activated charcoal, the Calming Toner and the Luxurious Face Cream. Also included is the Purifying Konjac Sponge which works to clean your pores and eliminate blackheads. It’s said to help kill acne causing bacteria and is a great treatment for break-out prone skin. The sponge is made from 100% natural vegetable fibre and has been used in some Asian countries for over 1,500 years.
The photo on the right was over 6 months ago, while the left one was last week. So while I’m still battling pigmentation, my skin does feel more hydrated and nourished.
The verdict on Embalm is a big YES from me. Especially if you’re looking for a natural fuss free range to use in conjunction with any other serums you’re currently using. It’s been years since I’ve used a toner and the Embalm one left my skin feeling even cleaner. Especially when using the cleanser and konjac sponge together. The moisturiser feels super luxe and creamy on your skin, so if you’re after that decadent rich feeling then the Luxurious Face Cream is for you.
The Embalm range also features products such as and eco make up cloth, a soothing lip balm and rosehip oil as well as an Instant Face Glow Mask, which is formulated with hyaluronic acid and paracress which is said to be a natural alternative to botox. Promising to boost your skin’s moisture levels and leave you looking glowy and fresh, the Glow Mask is next on my list of products to try.
Embalm is perfect for anyone who cares about using all natural, clean products on their face (and body). Check out Embalm Skincare and help support an Aussie woman startup at the same time.
